Psychotherapy is a method which is helpful to allow us to look carefully at the symptoms and experiences in your childhood as well as current situations and relationships. Together we will uncover and interpret the roots of difficulties you are experiencing. We will gently but deeply explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and begin the process of untangling them. The benefits of this work together will be the possibility of understanding and piecing together the puzzles in your life which may have prevented you from living a present and connected life. Long term therapy can sometimes feel difficult as it may be a painful process at certain times. The more I begin to understand you and your circumstances the more constructive I will be able to be. At all times during the therapy I will try to see the world through your eyes and from your perspective. The benefits can offer a substantial improvement in general wellbeing and allows you to move forward with your life.

Counselling is usually shorter term therapy and focuses on problem solving and moving forward. Counselling provides the space and time to think, feel and talk things through. This process of exploring who we are and reflecting on how we really feel may provide a greater understanding of what we want from life. The aim is to provide you with an opportunity to work towards personal growth and to live in a more satisfying and resourceful way.

It is my role is to remain impartial and to listen and respond appropriately. I will help you to look at what things are not working for you in your life. We can work out together what can be changed, the benefits this might bring and realistic ways of achieving the changes.

At all times I try to see the world through your eyes and from your perspective; the more I understand you and your circumstances, the more constructive I can be. But you are in charge: I believe that you have the right to make your own decisions and all that takes place between us is treated with respect and discretion.
